Drivers must be over 21 years of age and have held a clean driving licence for at least one year. For most nationals there is no need for an international driving licence. For drivers aged 21-23, Group A and B cars only are available; drivers in this age group must take out Collision Damage Waiver at double the regular rate.

An Airport Service Charge of US$27.00 must be paid locally, as well as an additional driver charge of US$3.00 per person per day. Crossing the border into Sinai or Jordan with hire cars is not allowed.

Cars may be returned to any Avis station in Israel. The Avis desks at Tel Aviv Airport are open 24 hours. A credit card will be required at time of pick up.
