“I’m back in home now from one of the BEST trips I have ever had! So please allow me to give you brief feedback. I really mean it when I say this was one of the best, if not the best holiday I have ever had. The arrangements were excellent, the people on the trip were great, the hotels were great, the tour guide was excellent and the bus driver was the best I have ever travelled with. So there you have it in a nutshell.” Annette Heyns

Day 1 – Sunday
The tour starts with direct EL AL flights from either London Heathrow or Luton. On arrival at Ben-Gurion Airport, you will be met by our tour guide and then whisked off to Tel Aviv for an overnight stay in a 4* hotel on a half board basis.
Day 2 – Monday
After a good night’s sleep and an equally good breakfast, you will be taken by luxury air-conditioned coach, with an English speaking guide, to the first stops which take in the south of the country including Ashdod, Beersheva, the Dead Sea for a float at the lowest point on earth and on to Massada, the mountain fortress which was the last stronghold of the Jewish Zealots in the war against the Romans. It’s then back to the hotel in Jerusalem.

Day 3 & 4 – Tuesday and Wednesday
The tour then stops in Jerusalem for two nights, giving you 2 days to explore the religious, historical and architectural site in both the Old and New City. (See the holiday destinations section of our site for more information on Jerusalem). You will drive to Mount Scopus for a spectacular view of the city, experience the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of the Agony. You will then be taken to the Israel Museum where the world famous Dead Sea Scrolls are beautifully displayed followed by The Knesset (Israel’s Parliament building). The next part of the tour is very moving because you will be taken to Yad Vashem (the Holocaust Museum). Before returning to your hotel there is a visit Ein Karem, the birthplace of John the Baptist.
On the second day in Jerusalem there is a walking tour of the Old City, visiting markets, street bazaars, the Cardo and Jewish Quarter. There will be a stop at the Western or Wailing Wall before continuing to the Temple and Stations of the Cross and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. The names remembered from childhood continue as we take you to Mount Zion and King David’s Tomb and the room of the Last Supper. In the afternoon there is a coach trip to Bethlehem and the Church of the Nativity and Rachels Tomb before returning to overnight in Jerusalem.
Day 5 – Thursday
The tour moves north to Beit Shean, Tiberias and The Galilee via the Jordan Valley including a visit to Capernaum and the land of miracles. Overnight you will get to stay in a Kibbutz hotel.

Day 6 – Friday
Well rested, the next day the tour then takes in the Golan Heights and the Upper Galilee region, including visiting former Syrian fortifications and Druze villages. It’s then on again to Nazareth to see the Christian sites before returning to overnight in a Kibbutz hotel.

Day 7 – Saturday
This section of the tour takes in the Mediterranean coast with visits to Acre and the crusader fort, Haifa visiting the Bahai Temple, Caesarea and its Herodian port and amphitheatre, Tel Aviv and Jaffa. This the last night of the tour is spent in Tel Aviv which offers you the perfect opportunity to explore this cosmopolitan city, which really comes alive at night.
Day 8 – Sunday
The following morning you will be taken to Ben Gurion airport for the flight to London. Alternatively, instead of ending your trip here, you can opt for a stay in Eilat, with either transfer by internal flight or by car. With Eilat’s high standard of accommodation to choose from, this makes the perfect end to your stay in Israel.

“Dear Superstar
Thanks for a wonderful time in Israel. I am really glad my wife talked me into the trip. The Discover Israel Tour was the best thing we have done in years. It was my Sunday School and history lessons all rolled into one.” Yours sincerely, Mr. and Mrs. Charles. Reading.

“Dear Superstar
Just a short note to thank you for a great holiday in Israel. It was our first visit and the Discover Israel Tour was the perfect introduction. We especially liked the stay in the kibbutz guest house. They gave us a short tour and gave us the history and how it works in today’s modern society. Fascinating. Your tour guide was a walking encycopedia and even though it seemed at time we were getting information overload she was really intersting. She even taught us few word in Hebrew, so I would like to say toda.” Best wishes, Alex and Patricia Merton, Hertfordshire.
