Herzliya Art Museum

Founded in 1965, Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art is dedicated to Israeli and international Contemporary art.
Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art focuses mainly on art works that offer different perspectives on the social and political situation, alongside works that explore the intra-artistic discourse, all the while nurturing the future generation of Israeli art.

In a country such as Israel, existing in a state of constant tension and ceaseless wars, art plays a significant role in establishing and shaping the social discourse. Each year the museum presents four exhibitions cycles comprised of some fifty solo shows, linked by their relevance to current events. These are not group shows, but a cluster of different perspectives by various artists, a platform which strengthen each work by itself, expands the contexts and opens further channels for interpretation and deeper layers of meanings. The fascinating confluence of local and international artists emphasizes the power of art to cross borders, be communicative and perhaps even make a difference.
Apollonia-Arsuf

Type:Ancient Ruins

The Crusader city and fortress, now known as Apollonia-Arsuf, were built on a cliff overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, some 15 km. north of modern Tel Aviv.

Since 1996, wide-scale archaeological excavations have been conducted at the site, but mainly in the Crusader fortress, with a view of turning it into a national park. Portions of the city wall and its eastern gate were found, as were the remains of the fortress” defenses and buildings.
Sidna-’Ali Mosque

Sidna-’Ali Mosque is a beautiful mosque on a cliff at the northern end of the beach.

The mosque was originally a 13th century Mamluk construction built in honour of one of Saladins lieutenants who fought bravely against the Crusaders and died in a battle on the hill on which the mosque now stands. His shrine is now housed within the building. It now serves both as a mosque and as a religious school.
Herzliya Pituah

Herzliya Pituach is an affluent beachfront district in western Herzliya, Israel, home to about 10,000 residents. Herzliya Pituach is known for its hotels, restaurants and high-tech industry.

The Herzliya marina, built in the 1980s at the initiative of mayor Eli Landau, covers an area of 500 dunams (0.5 km²). The marina complex includes the Arena shopping mall and a variety of restaurants overlooking the water.

Herzliya beach is the perfect place to sunbathe, play matkot (Israeli paddle ball) and engage in watersports. The water is fine and the food prices are reasonable.
