- Foreign & Commonwealth Office Advice
- The FCO produces up to-date travel advice to passengers to ensure their health and safety. For specific advice about travelling to Israel, please visit the FCO’s website.
- Transportation
- Where your holiday involves travel by air, the conditions of carriage by air are those of the airline concerned. As Superstar Holidays only uses scheduled services operated by EL AL Israel Airlines, the conditions of carriage are those EL AL.
- VAT
- Passengers should note that VAT charges will be applicable and payable locally if travelling with an lsraeli passport.

- Currency
- The new Shekel is lsrael’s tender. However, you can pay for most services and
purchases in USD, EUROS or POUNDS STERLING Payment in foreign currency( cash,
Credit card or Traveller’s cheques) exempts tourists from the Value Added Tax
on certain purchases and services.
- Electricity
- The electrical supply is 220 volts. A C. .Sockets are usually 3 –pronged European style, and foreign made appliances may require adaptors.

- Passports and Visas
- Superstar Holidays is not responsible for Passports or Visas. To visit Israel, British passengers must hold a standard I0 year passport. This must be valid for at least 6 months after completion of travel. Other nationals may require an entry visa. If in doubt, please visit the Embassy of Israel website.
- Language
- Hebrew is the main language in lsrael. However, English is so widely spoken that no
visitor will be at a loss to find someone who understands them.
- Health Regulations
- There are no vaccination requirements for visitors entering Israel. Some animals are exempt from veterinary permit if arriving with their owners, but their are many clauses, and so it is advisable to check with the Veterinary Service of the Ministry of Agriculture in advance of travel.
- Health issues
- We are not aware that, inoculations or vaccinations are required for travel to Israel. If in doubt, please check with your own doctor before departure.
- Holy Places and customs
- Visitors and guests are made to feel very welcome. You are, however, requested
when visiting holy sites, synagogues, etc. to observe the customs which may include
wearing a head or head and shoulder covering.
- Checking in & out of hotels
- Hotel bedrooms are generally available from 15:00 hrs on the day or arrival and must be vacated by 12 noon on day of departure. This is particularly relevant to arrivals by night flights.
